Our Founder & CEO
My name is Ashraf Farassati
Ashraf began her career as a Biomedical Engineer, working in Fortune 500 medical device and pharmaceutical companies, leading large engineering teams in developing life-saving technology. But since the age of 16, she has been traveling solo — a practice she turned to in order to heal from severe childhood abuse that resulted in complex-PTSD and a crippled sense of self-worth. Through nearly 20 years of solo backpacking across 80+ countries, she discovered the healing power of traveling alone — facing her fears, conquering her self-limiting beliefs, and witnessing the full diversity of the human experience. She unearthed her strength by navigating life's many unknowns and deeply connecting with people from all walks of life. Along the way, she met countless fellow travelers who shared the same testimony: travel heals in ways nothing else can. But she also noticed that most people who need that experience the most will never have access to it. The opportunities, privileges, and support required to embark on that kind of journey are simply out of reach for the majority of the world. So she built TTT. A nonprofit that provides underserved young adults with the mental health resources, life skills, and travel experiences needed to uncover their fullest potential and overcome their traumas — the same path she had to fight for on her own. Ashraf has since been involved in her community as an activist for social justice and equality, managed a political campaign for a City Council candidate, spoken on numerous podcasts about her experiences, and committed years to her own therapy — building the self-image and relationships that now anchor everything TTT stands for.
